DOST, Landbank seal partnership for oneSTore
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Land Bank of the Philippines have officially sealed their partnership for the oneSTore project, an e-commerce platform for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at the LandBank Plaza on February 28.
Said partnership was formalized thru a Memorandum of Agreement signing between DOST Secretary Fortunato dela Pea and LandBank President and Chief Executive Officer Alex Buenaventura.
Under the deal, LandBank’s ePayment Portal (ePP) will serve as a payment portal for onestore.ph while facilitating operational and cost efficiencies for seller-MSMEs.
“Prior to the establishment of oneStore.ph, the country did not have an e-commerce platform that caters exclusively to quality Filipino products. This is why the government and its agencies have made deliberate and concerted efforts to leverage our MSMEs to a vantage point, where they can be strategic in their chosen venture,” Dela Peña said.
President Buenaventura said, “We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this breakthrough service which provides an online platform for MSMEs to promote and sell their products to both local and international markets.”
Launched in July 2015, thru the initiative of former DOSTT Secretary Mario Montejo, oneSTore now has over 10,000 Filipino products available for purchase and more than P1M sales. DOST Region 2 Director Sancho Mabborang said oneSTore is continuously expanding and evolving to create more opportunities for our local MSMEs. For 2017, oneSTore is looking into venturing in establishing oneSTore vending machines and collaborating with partners to carry out international transactions.
